Shannon Wolf Montague
Shannon Montague, BA, MBA manages commercial activities for Intelesens, a ground breaking medical technology innovator. Intelesens is a University of Ulster (Northern Ireland) spin out company specialising in medical device sensor technology. She is passionate about the application of technology to add value and improve our everyday lives. She applies that passion and her market, sales and operations experience to the medical technology industry.
Intelesens has developed a revolutionary wearable vital signs monitor, zensor, and Shannon is leading its launch into the marketplace. zensor is a completely new application of technology. It is a wearable ECG, respiration, and activity monitor with on-board arrhythmia algorithms that transmit irregularities directly to the clinician via Wi-Fi, which will revolutionize healthcare by lowering hospital costs and diagnosing patients earlier. Working meticulously with the clinical, engineering, medical, and software teams, she has been able to align technological breakthroughs with real market needs. Her most recent focus and passion for zensor is Atrial Fibrillation (AF) screening. AF is a very high risk factor for stroke, however to date, AF screening is not recommended by the regulatory authorities in North America, Ireland, or the United Kingdom. She has helped organize an AF Screening Study with Intelesens’s zensor system in Dublin, Ireland to screen people with common risk factors of AF. While in its early stages, results so far have been very promising, and if successful will transform the way Health Services monitor and detect AF. A study like this has never been done before, and could have enormous implications to preventing stroke, thus saving lives and lowering overall costs. Shannon is also the Team Leader of Team zensor, which is one of the teams left competing for the Qualcomm Tricorder X-Prize to further revolutionize and disrupt current health models.
