Smart Business Show

The Smart Business Show are delighted to name the Integrated Education Fund as their Official Charity Partner in a brand-new business to business exhibition. The Smart Business Show is a ‘first’ in the British Isles, a unique event, taking place on the 29 & 30th May at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast.

With a world economic recovery on the horizon, everyone needs new, Smart ideas to grow their business. The central themes of the Show are thus Innovation and Creativity. Visitors will be inspired and motivated by world-class speakers such as Paul Adams of Intercom who was ‘in at the beginning’ with the design of products as diverse as the Dyson vacuum cleaner and Google+. Per Thorsheim is an independent cyber security expert from Norway, whilst Stephen Moffatt of IBM will explore the ’cloud’ and what it has to offer businesses of all sizes. Kieran McDonnell of Microsoft will describe ‘the new world of work’ and Nick Leeson will be ‘Baring his soul’ with a riveting, emotional and inspiring talk on his life’s experiences.

These are just some of the speakers lined up, in addition to Clinics and Workshops on a host of topics with specialist help available at the Google Webmaster SEO Clinic for digital tourists and natives alike. A Public Sector Workshop takes place on Thursday 29th May for those whose job it is to deliver the services we all use and there are a host of seminars in each of the four TalkZones. Sponsors include BT, ardmore advertising, Fujitsu, Innov8, Invest NI and WiFi Spark.

All of the major business institutions in Northern Ireland are Event Partners, including the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce, The Institute of Directors, The Federation of Small Businesses, Chartered Accountants Ireland, Women in Business, Sales Institute of Ireland, the Law Society of Northern Ireland and many more.

Last but not least are over one hundred exhibitors, from one person start-ups to large multinationals with new ideas, smart business systems and practices, all of whom are looking forward to engaging with the expected 8-10,000 visitors over two days.

All businesses, however, are run by people and the Show’s organisers are keenly aware that in order to work together, people have to live together and should therefore go to school together to better understand each other and get on in life and the workplace. “The Integrated Education Fund is the natural charity to support to achieve this” said Clive Corry of Smart Business. “We are delighted to support them and give them access to so many business executives. Their President, David Montgomery, Media Investment Mogul, currently CEO of LocalWorld; previously CEO of Mecom Group and with a business history including News of the World and Mirror Group Newspapers, will be opening the Show.”

Tina Merron, Chief Executive of the IEF, said “Integrated education in NI is a pioneering idea and integrated schools have always been founded by forward-looking and creative parents. It is therefore very fitting that we are teaming up with the Smart Business Show which is a pioneering, forward-looking and creative event. We are very grateful for this chance to continue our outreach activity within the business sector and look forward to an exciting and inspiring Show.”
