The Assembly and its Committees undertake a vital role in holding Executive departments to account and influencing the work of Government.  The Committees influence the Executive, its departments and other public bodies through scrutinising primary and secondary legislation, holding inquiries into proposed legislation and government policies, and examining budgets and performance.

Daithí McKay is the Chair of the Committee for Finance and Personnel and is also a member of the Public Accounts Committee. First elected to Ballymoney Council in 2005, he entered the Assembly as the youngest MLA in 2007. He is Sinn Féin's spokesperson on the Economy and successfully passed one of the Assembly's first Private Members Bills - the Single Use Carrier Bags Act 2011.

This is a Chartered Accountants in Public Sector initiative.  All Ulster Society members are welcome to attend.  We also encourage you to bring along work colleagues/guests.
