IoD Applying for public appointments

13th March 2013

There are around 350-400 public appointments each year and the Commissioner for Public Appointments and government Departments are keen to improve diversity on public bodies, particularly in respect to business representation.

However, applying for a public appointment can seem more complicated than it needs to be; many applicants simply give up when trying to complete the application forms.   This session will be presented by the Commissioner, John Keanie, who will explain how the process works, the application form, competency based questions, and how the public sector is keen to see a broader range of people applying for positions on public boards.

Places are limited.
